But there is a dilemma; many brokerage agencies and insurance professionals do not understand asset structures, financial planning, regulation or what it means to be an independent professional. Most insurance brokers have a purely product-centric focus, while most agencies fail to consider the entire spectrum of resources and/or holistic planning. This, combined with proprietary obligations, restrictions on available products and lack of objectivity, creates a clear conflict of interest.
