Addition Further Expands EPIC’s Employee Benefits Practice
EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants, a retail property and casualty insurance brokerage and employee benefits consultant, announced today that Sal Lona has joined the firm as Senior Principal as part of its Employee Benefits Practice.
In his new position with EPIC, Lona will be a leader in the Los Angeles employee benefits practice focusing on growth, business development and client management. He will provide employee benefit consulting and strategy, which includes plan design and implementation, cost analysis, data analytics, technology resources, administration, communications, point solutions and helping clients fulfill long-term goals for their employees and businesses. Reporting to Matt Clemo, Southern California Employee Benefits Leader, Lona will work from the firm’s Los Angeles office.

Lona joins EPIC from Aon where he spent the last 17 years. His experience includes working with middle and large market clients across the U.S. and globally. Lona’s leadership roles include Middle Market Leader, Market Growth Leader, Sales Leader and Office Leader. He has helped numerous clients innovate and create value-based benefits programs with increased employee engagement and effective cost solutions. Lona’s expertise includes self-funded benefit programs and alternative funding contracts. He has extensive experience representing employers in the engineering, construction, manufacturing, technology, real estate, financial services, retail and wholesale, professional services, and healthcare industries. He will use this experience to help clients solve, plan, and navigate the increasingly complex and dynamic employee benefits environment.
Prior to Aon, Lona held production and client management roles at USI Insurance Services and Wells Fargo Insurance Services. Early in his career, he worked as an underwriter at Prudential Health Insurance, which is now a part of Aetna.
