Thank you for your service, Ranger!

On this Veterans Day, EPIC offers thanks to all present and former U.S. military servicemen and women across the nation.

EPIC sponsored the training and placement of Ranger, a puppy from our partners at America’s VetDogs. He was one of dozens that this respected and expanding charitable organization has been providing to America’s military veterans since 2003.

These pups are pretty special! Uniquely trained to assist service members with regular tasks, the incredible canines gain the skills to enhance the mobility and quality of life for anyone dealing with physical disability, visual impairment, PTSD, and other obstacles. That’s in addition to being a daily friend and companion, of course.

The cost of training for each pup can be high, so in 2021 we asked the EPIC team to donate. We raised over $6,000 for the cause, and this helped Ranger complete his 6 months of training in the fall of last year and quickly get placed with a vet in need.

Reports indicate that Ranger and his new owner bonded perfectly and the two are happily living together.

“The good people at America’s VetDogs were extremely grateful for EPIC’s sponsorship here, and our veteran couldn’t be happier,” said Kevin Ach, Managing Principal of IMPACT Risk Partners (a Division of EPIC) and Chair of the EPIC Veterans Resource Group. “Lovable little Ranger completed the program and has since bonded with his new owner—friends for life! It’s been a hugely successful engagement and I look forward to working with AVD again.”

The partnership was so successful, in fact, that the program has exploded in size in the past few years. But despite a long waiting list of corporate sponsors that seems to grow daily, we remain as ready and excited as ever to sponsor a new dog and help another vet, possibly sometime next year.
